Hawkcast: Hawk Counting Starts Sunday —

The Franklin Mountain Hawk Watch season will officially start tomorrow, Sunday 8/22. The forecast is for showers tomorrow so many birds are not expected.

Of interest to raptor enthusiasts is the first documented nesting of Mississippi Kite in New York State. This was confirmed by Rich Guthrie yesterday in the Town of Root where an adult bird was observed feeding a fledgling.

Get Involved!

Will You Help? You will always find some interesting goodies to munch on, and a cup of coffee or tea or juice, at our monthly programs. This offers a time to visit, and to meet people new and old, both before and after the speaker. These foods are supplied by members like you! and we do appreciate your help. We have a "DOAS BOX" with all the supplies for everything except the cookies or fruits or cheeses and crackers, or whatever you like to bring. And we help to set up the table. If you would be willing to contribute at a program, call Jean Miller at 432-5767. She will have a sign-up sheet at every program, also. Thanks!
