Trail Boardwalks

The wood beneath your feet is the result of hard work and dedication from the Delaware Otsego Audubon Society’s John G. New Audubon Day Camp participants. Children ranginging from first to sixth grade were given the materials and instructions to build these awesome walkways! They provide a structured pathway for pedestrians, allowing individuals to traverse muddy or marshy terrains without causing significant ecological disturbance. By elevating foot traffic above sensitive habitats, boardwalks minimize soil erosion and protect local flora and fauna, thereby promoting sustainability in areas often threatened by human activity.
